I started this semester being completely unsure of myself, not knowing what direction I wanted my portfolio to go in; I couldn't decide if my work would primarily be two or three dimensional. I'd spent the previous two years in the Academy at Heritage focusing on ceramics and pottery, causing me to, initially, want to focus on building my portfolio with various other types of sculpture. I soon found that with the way my schedule was set up, with 7 other classes and a job to attend on the weekends, I had no time for extensive sculpting. I definitely didn't have time to teach myself how to do anything new.
So, I had to scrap the piece I'd worked on for this assignment. I got rid of my chair (not literally, its still a very good, and functional, chair) and I traded it in for work with my camera.
